Every day author Chen Mu wrote his articles at Peninsula Coffee Shop, where he met Lin Hailun, an airline ticketing officer who came from a rich family. He was attracted to Lin's beauty and determined to chase after her by writing her letters every day. A month had passed but Chen received no response. He wrote Lin the last letter in which he said that he would never write again if Lin failed to reply. Lin's father Zhengting was extremely worried to see that his daughter had still not married. Later Lin invited Chen to her father's birthday party, where she deliberately asked Doctor Liu Yaoxian to pretend to be her husband. Chen was extremely disappointed and fell ill after getting drunk. His friend asked Doctor Liu to see Chen, but Chen refused. Doctor Liu explained to him that it was all Lin's trick. Chen was angry at Lin and decided to take revenge.

After the birthday party Lin's father blamed Lin for cheating Chen, and Lin was regretful too. After a while when Chen called Lin to date her, she was heartbroken to learn that Chen had already married to Jenny. Jenny was Lin's old classmate but told her the truth in the washroom. Lin was outrageous and left without uttering a word. When at home Lin was even more upset to hear that her aunt was getting married. She vowed that she would never fall in love again. Meanwhile, Jenny told Chen about Lin and Chen wasted no time to rush to Lin's house for explanation, bringing with him Jenny and her husband Yang Shaohua. Lin's father told Chen to see her alone in the bedroom. Lin finally forgave Chen and promised to marry him.
