A group of college students led by Huang Yizhe were preparing for a musical at the farewell party. Nicknamed "the Yellow Rickshaw," Huang was well known for his persistence in chasing after girls despite repeated failures. One of his classmates, Zhong Fengyi, also a member of the musical team, was extremely annoyed by Huang's nuisance. One day Zhong was surprised to receive a telegram from his father in Singapore, saying that his sister was visiting the nephew and her husband. In an earlier attempt to protest her father's matchmaking, Zhong told a lie that she had already married Huang. Now that her aunt was coming to Hong Kong shortly, Zhong had no choice but sought help from her classmates.

Zhong's aunt was received in a villa owned by Liang Ruolan, another student. All classmates played different roles in the house, hoping that Zhong's aunt would not recognise. They succeeded though, not because of their good acting, but because Zhong's aunt had serious problems with her eyes that she could hardly see.

Seeing that Zhong's aunt was so young and beautiful and had studied in France, Huang began to shift his attention again. Zhong's aunt was puzzled and asked her nephew what happened to her "husband." She was even more confused that her nephew did not seem to care anything about Huang. Meanwhile, all the classmates were fighting with each other in the living room. When Zhong's aunt rushed to the scene, Huang explained the whole story and proposed to her. Zhong's aunt agreed and promised to convince her brother upon her return to Singapore. At the farewell party, all students performed the musical that was a great success.
