Chen Dakang visited a friend He Tianbai and his wife in Tokyo, where he came across a waitress Kikuko Yamada who looked the same as Chen's fiancee who died 10 years ago. Astonished but attracted to her, Chen tried to date Kikuko but she refused.

She left home a letter and was prepared to die for her love, as she had promised in front of the Buddha. Soon after that Chen arrived at Kikuko's house with his mother. Recognising that it was Chen who rescued him in China, Kikuko's brother made no more protest and urged Chen to find Kikuko at the shore. Finally Chen found Kikuko at the seaside and vowed that they would never part again.
